AWS and high availability

- [Instructor] While Amazon Web Services, or AWS, is the global leader in cloud computing, individual components can fail, causing service disruptions. Helping you understand the AWS service offerings and how to use them to improve availability is the goal of this course. By taking a thoughtful approach to infrastructure and application design, you can minimize the likelihood of service failure. AWS offers foundational infrastructure, as well as resilient tools and platforms to facilitate the delivery of highly available services. This course is designed to give you an appreciation of the tools and platforms you can use to improve the availability of your application in AWS. Hi, I'm Sharif Nijim, and I'd like to welcome you to this conversation on high availability in Amazon Web Services. We'll start off by reviewing general high availability concepts. We will then explore different high level ways in which you can design for the inevitable failure. We will proceed with an exploration of Amazon machine images, load balancing options, and auto scale. Then, we will examine options from various database and storage needs. With an understanding of these components and how to use them, you can craft the environment of your dreams from anywhere on the planet with an internet connection. Let's get going.
