- [Instructor] When my wife and decided to take our family vacation, the first thing we did was sit down, determine the purpose of the trip, and the details we might need to consider to set the budget. We decided our travel plans, where we would stay, and how we would get around. Before entering the world of cloud computing, undertaking a similar effort will provide for a successful experience as your infrastructure moves from on-prem to hosted. Like our family vacations, I need to document the purpose of my company's technology footprint. I can identify high-value technology such as communications, web and mobile applications. And our organization is located on the northeast region of the United States. Therefore, when I go to build, I need to focus on what and where the technology needs to be.
