- Just as it sounds, a lifecycle rule allows me to determine the rule of the life of a document in my organization. How long that document's available and what triggers its end of life. Document lifecycles are critical since it is often the case that documents are part of all legal matters, and have the ability to coordinate the lifecycle of large volumes. Let's create a lifecycle rule. Back in the AWS Management Console, let's type S3... And here we are in our S3 buckets. Let's select AWS Example Solution. We want to set the document lifecycle management rule for everything in this folder, AWS Documents, so here we'll select Management, and Lifecycle is selected by default. We're going to add a lifecycle rule. Going to name that rule samplelifecycle. We don't really have enough data or enough numbers of documents to add a tag or prefix, but this is where you would set it for filtering purposes. We'll select Next.
