- Well, hello there. Mark Wilkins checking in, ready to give you information about the well-architected framework, and you may be thinking what is this framework all about? Well, let me tell you. The well-architected framework is going to help you host applications at Amazon in way less time than if you just started off and started tinkering around in the cloud and figuring out what to do. The well-architected framework is based on what Amazon thinks you should do, and you may say well, why should I care what they think? Well, they went and talked to their customers, and their customers told them what they were doing, and Amazon said that sounds like a plan, and they've had a decade or more of customers telling them what worked and what didn't, and so they wrote it down. So now that you care about being organized and hosting applications in the cloud, how long is this going to take? Well, this is just an overview class, not too long, probably about 35 minutes or so. There's five different classes that make up this framework. So it will take a little bit of time, but it actually will save you a ton of time. I ask you this. Have you ever written a book without creating an outline first? Well, I have, and guess what? As you wade through that book so confident in what you're writing and suddenly realizing you have to go back and get organized. So the well-architected framework is going to get you organized and understanding Amazon's points of view and their customers' points of view, and this is going to save you a ton of time, and this is also great for studying for a certification at AWS because this framework is how they're approaching all of their certification tests and all their deployments across the AWS cloud. So I hope you join me for all five classes. At the very least, watch the overview first. We'll see you in class.
