- [Instructor] Deciding on an angle of approach to AWS can be difficult. Fortunately Amazon offers a free point of entry. Amazon limits its free tier by how long you can use a solution for free and how much you can use that solution. Time for free use of the tool is set to either 12 months or the entire lifetime of the tool. Free status of a tool is also determined by data processed or on a trial basis. For example, the EFS and EC2 platforms are both free for use for 12 months, while the Glacier and Macie products are free for the lifetime of those products. Therefore it can be free to architect the solution but only cost if the solution is used. While solutions are free to use, they begin to incur costs when either time or data increase to production levels. For example, EC2 deployments begin to incur fees if their use exceeds 750 hours a month. Likewise EFS is free to configure but will begin to incur costs if the file system houses more than five gigabytes of data per month. Review…
