Library overview

- Libraries are used to store and manage all information relating to your electrical components. So for example, we've taken a look at libraries briefly already for our specific project here. We've been using a pre-built library called this LilyPad Simple v2. And it's fairly simple, just looks like it holds about 13 components or so. As we've been inserting into our project here. And we can see for each of these components we have a bunch of information, including the Schematic Footprint as well as the PCB Layout Footprint. So in most cases we already have the existing libraries and Altium in fact, has millions and millions of pre-built components for you that you can download and install as needed. But in some cases of course you may need to create your own customized components and custom libraries and of course we can do that as well. So just to get started we can navigate up to our File dropdown, and just as we started a new project I can go File, New, Project, but instead of…
