Marking-menu custom shelves
- Now one of the real advantages of using an application like Alias, is the speed that it can create, modify, analyze and move data. So up to this point we've been using the conventional method of going over to our download marks, picking a command, executing the command in the middle and then sometimes we'd jump up to the menu bar and then in some cases, also to the Control Panel. Moving around the interface like this adds a lot of what we call mice miles. So with Alias, the focus here has to be on modeling. And my focus right now is in the center of the screen where I'm doing my modeling. And I want to try to minimize the fact that I have to view this palette and I have to view the menu bar and then I also have to view the Control Panel. Now Alias achieves the minimization of these mouse miles very effectively by using something called Marking Menus. So let's close the Pick down.
