- One of the really strong points about an application like Alias is that it can create data very, very quickly, and then you can send that off to rapid prototype and get a physical model quickly in your hands that you can use it in a book or you can use it as an example for a customer. So when we are at the stage where we want to send this data off, we need to send it off and we need to send it to our rapid prototyping group. So I want to show you how to do this. Let's go to our Catia V5 layer, and this is a completed model. This is the model that I want to get rapid prototyped. So I want to select the object, file, export, rapid prototype. So in this option here we're going to go, it's going to be an STL file, it's going to be binary format, I'm going to leave the tolerances at the default tolerances of 001. So let's accept that.
