Formula fields
- [Instructor] If you need to perform calculations in your base, that's where the formula field comes into play. The formula field can be used for calculating numbers, dates, or even texts. Airtable has approximately 90 different functions that you can use in your formulas. And you can see a full description of these functions on Airtable's website at the link below. In this video, we're going to be covering two of these functions and I encourage you to explore the other functions on your own. Let's start with a math formula. In our context table here, we have two different currency fields Package Cost and Amount Paid, meaning that some people still have a balance due. So let's create a formula field to figure out how much everyone owes us. We'll add a new field here and we'll call it Balance Due. And this time we will make this a formula field.
