Once your green screen footage is imported and added to a composite in Apple Final Cut Pro X, you can start to key out the green or blue background color. How do you begin to key it out? In this video, Richard Harrington gives a broad overview of how to key out footage in Apple Final Cut Pro X.
Final Cut Pro X offers some very good keying tools.…These effects allow you to perform a good key right…within the non-linear editor.…Now there still are some advantages…to going to programs like After Effects or Apple Motion…for advance controls but many editors can get by,…or at least use the built-in tools…to get their first key out of the way to show the client.…In the effects browser you can work…with the installed effects.…If you don't see this just click the icon…to open the browser.…
You'll find different options in the browser…and you can view both transitions and effects.…Feel free to use the Search panel here…and just type in the work key.…I'm going to search All with that key word…and you see a couple of choices:…Luma Keyer, Key Light, Keyer, and Primatte Keyer.…Let's drag the Keyer onto the clip.…This background needs to be adjusted slightly.…
So I'll scale it just a little bit.…There we go.…Or I could choose Scale All and with the key…layer selected, let's take a look.…By default it keyed pretty well on its own.…
