Andy Needham, a London-based motion graphics artist and animation director shows what we will be creating during this course. He outlines the goal of the course; to create an animated asset based on static designs of a fitness tracking app which could be used as a means of explaining the app's key functionality.
- [Voiceover] We are going to animate…the static screen designs for…a fictitious activity tracking app called, Activity Tracker.…The market is absolutely flooded…with apps such as these, they're very popular.…You may even use one yourself on a daily basis.…Our goal is to create an animated concept…which illustrates the key functionality of the app.…By the end of the course, it'll be possible…to use this animation as a guide for a developer.…Or prospective investor to help them understand how…the app functions before a single line of code is written.…

6/6/2016In this course, Andy Needham shows how to create an app interface from scratch using Adobe Illustrator, and then take the finished design into After Effects for animation. This is a start-to-finish project, going from concept sketches to the final product (an animated GIF). The prototype will showcase the navigation and interactive aspects of the app interface and can be used for marketing or gathering client and user feedback.
