Wiggle Paths

- Some of you may remember that in the old days, before After Effects CS5, there was this effect called Vector Paint, and one of its endearing qualities was that it could make lines wiggle, they could self-animate. Unfortunately, this is not a feature of the normal paint inside After Effects. You can still open old projects that have Vector Paint and they may still render correctly but you can no longer edit the parameters or create a new Vector Paint layer, however, inside Shape Layers, there is a shape operator called Wiggle Paths. Let me show you how to use that. I'll create a new Composition, call it wiggle paths, and for starters, I'm just going to select the Pen Tool and draw a simple straight line. I'll return to my Selection Tool since I'm done drawing, which will open the Shape Layer in the Timeline panel, and next to Contents, I'll click Add, Wiggle Paths, which will open its parameters.
