Why use After Effects?

- Now that you've enhanced images, let's move on to putting those images into motion. Now, popular effects that can be done to photos include the ability to pan and scan. Essentially, scaling up parts of the image and zooming in, or pulling back to reveal parts of the photo. Now, you can do this in a basic video editing tool, or even a complex one using key frames. But, I'm a big fan of doing this in Adobe After Effects. There are several reasons. First, After Effects gives you the ability to use very high quality scaling. So, when you start to apply key frames, you could apply them and have it do a better job at rendering the scale. I find that this works particularly well when dealing with lower quality source material, as it uses higher quality scaling algorithms, like Photoshop, to give you a clearer, sharper image.
