- One of the problems I often see with blue screen and green screen productions is that people choose to shoot against a chroma key backdrop because they have no idea what they want the video to be. As if shooting blue screen or green screen means you can make your mind up later, but let's shoot now, that's just not a good idea. Now, it's possible that things might not be totally locked down. Maybe you're putting together an educational tutorial, and someone's going to walk someone through the website. The website might still be in development, but at least you knew what was going back there. What you want to avoid is shooting someone totally flat and then trying to cut them in to a dramatic backdrop, making it look like they were outdoors at night. Well, if you didn't shoot it that way, the green screen isn't going to look natural. Now, fortunately, tools keep getting better.
