What are raster graphics, and when should you use them?

- Let's start by taking a look at a piece of core technology, Raster Graphics. Raster Graphics use pixels, or picture elements. These are individual squares of light that represent a color, and when you start to put all of these colors together, they can illustrate photographic content, things that are continuous tone in nature. Now, Raster Graphics can be created with a tool like Adobe Photoshop or captured in a digital camera. Let's start by looking at a photo. In this case here, you'll see that we have an image of a brown bear against a brown log. This is a simple photographic captured with a digital camera. Now let's start to zoom in. I'll select the magnifying glass tool here. And as I click, you'll notice that it jumps magnification. The magnification level is visible right here in the title bar. And you see that we are currently at 100%, which means we're viewing the pixels at actual size. Let's click and go in to 400%. Now the pixels are four times their actual size and you…
