- [Instructor] Here is what I want for you from this course. If you're just starting out, I'd like you to understand what After Effects does. If you have a general sense that you want to know After Effects but don't know where to start, I want to help make you comfortable diving into the skill that speaks to you most. If you're producing, directing, or managing a project and want a quick primer on how After Effects does all that it does, I'd like this course to offer you a sufficient grasp of what the application does to know whether it's the right tool for you or your project.
If you want even more fundamental information about video, check out Getting Started with Video Production and Editing with Rob Garrott. There are also a number of courses to familiarize you with the principles of animation and motion design. Just search on those keywords for the one that interests you. Maybe you'll realize that you have an affinity for motion design and the dance of concealing and revealing graphics. Maybe it's just animation that is most important to you, the expression of emotion in story through precise motion and timing.
Not everyone can spend hours refining something that plays out in a few seconds. But if you can, you're an animator. Or, maybe you're a filmmaker, and you know that the most powerful, visual stories today are just coming straight out of the camera. They are being made more believable, as well as more incredible, using Affect Effects.
