Find out what After Effects CC 2017 has in store for you. Learn about the new features, performance improvements, and workflow enhancements, including Typekit syncing and the C4D renderer.
- [Mark] Hi, and welcome to Adobe After Effects Creative Cloud 2017. I'm Mark Christiansen, and I'm going to take you through the new features in my favorite Adobe application. This course covers everything major that has been added to After Effects 2017 via two major releases starting in late 2016. I'll be showing you some great new additions. Starting with Essential Graphics for designing After Effects motion graphics to use in Premiere Pro. We also cover the integration of Cinema 4D for 3D rendering in an After Effects Composition.
Workflow improvements is a section you'll especially appreciate if you've been using After Effects for awhile. Some of these make activities you may do all the time, like draw multiple masks, set high-speed footage, customize your project panel or avoid precomping to set an effect much simpler. I'll show you new features, including the addition of Lumetri scopes, the new Camera-Shake Deblur effect, Typekit Sync to manage missing fonts, and project templates that you can design yourself to save a lot of tedious, repetitive organization.
After Effects has been enhanced for performance, including many added GPU-enabled effects, and no longer stalls with simple spacebar playback of most source clips including red and avid footage. We also look at Team Projects, a revolutionary way of collaborating on a video production. So maybe this your first look at what's new in After Effects, or perhaps you're using this course to get a more hands-on understanding of the new features and to learn about features you may not have known about if someone didn't show them to you. I look forward to showing you how to take advantage of what the latest version of After Effects has to offer.
As Adobe releases new updates to After Effects, we'll be adding more movies to this course reflecting those changes. Therefore, don't worry so much about what project file or what composition I'm using in a particular movie. This is all about showing you what the new features are, teaching you the workflow, so you can get the most out of them, hit the ground running or decide if maybe you even want continue using the old version. It's up to you, but I want you to know how to take advantage of some of these cool new features.
The November 2016 release is just the first of many for After Effects CC 2017. Mark will update the course as soon as new features are released. Check back often for new tutorials.
