From the course: After Effects Guru: Creating Presets and Controllers

Welcome

- Hi, my name is Nick Harauz. I'm a professional video editor and motion graphic designer. Welcome to AE guru where we're going to create some presets and controllers. Now, while After Effects ships with tons of presets within the application, learning how to create your own as well as ways of how to easily control multiple layers in your project can save you tons of time in your motion graphic workflow. Now, in this course, we're going to build some presets to use in the future projects. Now, when it comes to presets and controllers, I'm going to say, the more, the merrier. Not only that, but in many cases, the simpler, the better. Ask yourself how much time in your work do you spend applying simple key frames to layers in your composition, such as fade in and fade outs or adjusting the scale over time. Now, if this sounds like you, wouldn't it be easier to save those effects as a preset so you don't have to use it again? In this course, we're going to create text presets, useful backgrounds, and textures. In the second half, we'll look at ways of controlling multiple layers in our project to the useful expressions, no objects, and blending tricks. Now, by the end of this course, you'll be able to take all the knowledge you gained and start creating your own library of effects and presets so that on your next After Effects project, you'll have an arsenal of content that you can use to help get the job done faster.
