Using the exercise files
- If your subscription allows it, you can download the exercise files for this course. After extracting the .zip file, you will see a folder with three after After Effects projects and one folder named footage, and this is where all the assets for this course are placed. So, if something is missing, you can always reconnect it from this folder. Now, for the sake of efficiency I've created one file for each one of the projects that we are going to work with. So, if I'm going to double click on this temple.aep, you can see that in the projects banner, under the comps folder, there's all the compositions that you need, each one is relevant for it's own movie and we're also going to present it as an overlay at the beginning of the relevant movie. Now, if you're watching this course in a linear fashion, you can start with the first composition and keep using it because we will build on top of it, until we reach the final result, but if you want to catch up with me, you can go ahead and use one of these different compositions. Now, note that not all the movies have exercise five's, in some cases, we will be starting from scratch, or will just cover some theoretical subject so you don't need anything to practice those topics. Also worth mentioning, that the font that I'm using in the first project, temple.aep, should sync automatically if you're using the latest version of After Effects. If this is not happening for you, you can go ahead and sync it manually using the Adobe font service, and the font that I'm using here is Museo sans rounded, and you are going to use the 500 and the 700 styles of it. All right, for the second project, lake.aep, I'm using a third-party plugin named Element 3D. So if you like to follow along with me you will to install this plugin on your system as well. Now currently, there isn't a trial version of it, so if you don't have it on your machine, you can still watch this chapter and then decide if you want to invest in it or not. Assuming that you are opening these files, you may also need to reconnect the model and its textures because Element 3D is using a direct folder path and not relative ones. So, if you need to do so, one way is to open the seam setup inside Element and then go to file, re-link seam files then click locate or click add path to add the exercise files folder for this course. That's it, you should now be to follow along using these file, but if you don't have access to my examples, you can still use your own assets and sharpen your skills with the knowledge that I'm going to pass on
