From the course: After Effects Guru: Working with Vectors

Using the exercise files

If your lynda.com membership includes access to the Exercise Files ,you'll want to watch this video to see exactly how I have things organized. Once you download the files, I encourage you to only move the Exercise Files folder itself. Don't move the folders around that are inside the Exercise Files folder. See After Effects references other files, and if you change how things are organized in this folder, sometimes your After Effects project may lose a different file that it's referencing. So it's important if you need to move this to an external drive, or any other drive just move the entire Exercise Files folder itself. Now, once you're inside the folder, you'll notice I have chapter numbers for each individual chapter in this title. Now, if you notice in the zero one chapter, there are no files. That's because there aren't any Reference files that come with Chapter One. If you go to chapter two, you'll notice I do have Exercise Files. And the icons may appear different, but don't panic. That's because we're working with After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Now, if you look at chapter three, in certain instances like 301, I have two different files that we'll be working with in that video. Now, don't panic. I'm going to walk you through exactly which file I'm working with, at any given time. Lastly, you'll see one folder called Graphic Elements. We'll be saving files to this folder, and a lot of these After Effects projects will reference these individual files. So if you open up an After Effects project and it's missing a link, you may want to try and relink it to the graphic elements within this individual folder.
