So we're here in Illustrator. What I'm going to do in this movie is …show you how you can use the Transform effect to create easy, editable grids, …it's a really fantastic tool. We're going to use it to create a little …calendar grid here. This is going to be a page of a calendar. …And I want a little grid here representing the months, dates coming ahead. …Now if I look in my layers panel, you'll see I've got two layers. …I've got my grid on one layer and my page on the other layer. …Now, I've locked the page just to make sure I don't accidentally select it.…
And I'm going to zoom in just around the line here using my Zoom tool and then go …back to my Selection tool once I've done that. …Now, I'm going to select the line and it's just created using the Line Segment tool …and then go to Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform. …And what the Transform effect does is it will transform the layers. …So, if I say, move my 20 pixels, for example, and click on Preview, it will …just move that 20 pixels from where the original file was drawn.…
