An interesting effect inside of AfterEffects is called radio waves. Now many of you are probably too old to remember the RKO Radio Pictures announcement that used to run in front of old movies. But essentially it was a radio tower with emitting waves that would repeat in a pattern. So the old-time AfterEffects users might actually remember when the radio tower was on the box. But what's happening here is that it's a repeating pattern and at the fundamentals of animation, this is a core concept that's easy to build on. Let's take a look at what's happening. Quite simply here, I have a shape and the shape layer is just a star. But, by stylizing that a bit it could become something quite elaborate. In this case, a repeating pattern and I get all of these energy and waves and this evokes some of the things that I remember from growing up with early video games.
