Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the Fractal Noise effect, part of Motion Graphics for Video Editors: Creating Backgrounds.
…Another way to create simple repeating patterns, under the generate category,…is the fractal noise plug in.…It's a lot of fun and it produces interesting background textures.…Here's an example of what fractal noise looks like.…And I've created a flowing, sort of watery texture.…Looks a bit to me like a melted metal,…that's taken on interesting properties of both purple and silver.…Well, how's this done?…On a solid layer, you could apply the noise effect.…So just type in fractal, and you'll find Fractal Noise.…
It's under the Noise and Rain category.…And, on its own, it looks a little boring.…But, under fractal types, are a myriad of options.…So for example, the turbulent option here is kind of interesting.…And if I go under Transform, and scale that up, we have an interesting pattern.…Now, on its own, it doesn't move.…But if you take advantage of that evolution property,…you can go from the beginning to the end and tell it to evolve.…
In this case, three cycles.…What'll happen is, over time, it cycles through those evolutions, but…
