- [Instructor] Now, we mentioned earlier on the arc of a ball, so if a ball's being thrown from the left, it has left to right directional force from the person who's throwing, and is also affected by gravity. The further the ball travels to the right, the nearer it will get to the ground. So when the two forces are combined, it produces a curved path known as an arc, and that's caused by two forces acting against each other. And the shape of the arc will depend on how strong the throw force is compared to the gravity force. Which, under normal circumstances, remains constant. So we need to consider, how hard is this ball being thrown? What direction is it thrown in? What height is it thrown from? And only after you've considered those factors will you be able to create a believable arc for it to travel along. You then need to decide how it will bounce. And that's not only affected by the weight or mass of the object, which we'll have a look at later, but also by the damping force…
