Using the 3D Camera Tracker

- [Instructor] There is another famous tracking tool in After Effects and this is the 3D camera tracker. This effect analyzes video sequences to extract camera motion and 3D scene data. It allows you to correctly composite 3D elements over your 2D footage. Now I must admit, that this shot that you are seeing over here is not the usual candidate when working with this tool. And it can be tracked using other methods that we already covered in this course. But nevertheless, we'll use it to help us replace this laptop screen with the animation that we have over here. Alright, so I'll switch off the visibility of this desktop move animation clip and return to the Laptop.mov and then we can apply the 3D camera tracker from different places in the application, so you can either go to the animation menu and choose Track Camera, you can apply it as an effect under Effect, Perspective, 3D Camera Tracker.
