- [EJ] Welcome to another Motion Graphics Weekly, where you up your mo-graph knowledge one week at a time. I'm EJ Hassenfratz, let's get out learn on. Lighting in 3D can be difficult to wrap your head around as a newcomer to 3D. And this is why many people lean in the technique called three point lighting. I'm sure it's a term you've heard of before. Now three point lighting is a lighting setup typically used to light a single subject that was developed my Hollywood man, many years ago, and is used heavily in the world of 3D today. It's a great method for learning how to light 3D objects correctly. But three point lighting is more about understanding how you can use lights, rather than how many lights to use. Now it's a technique meant as more of a jumping off point to different setups and stylized looks.
