- At this stage it's worth keeping in mind…that we've taken on a key…that really was not shot properly…and we're seeing the problems…that come along with that.…So by trying to solve for this blue shirt…that was shot against the blue background…I now have the bane of the compositor's exhistence…matte lines.…These were introduced when I brought down clip white.…So if I close this up…you can see those matte lines coming in…as clip white comes down.…
At this point I have a key here that's…really neither here nor there.…The edges really aren't that great in the problem areas…and they're really not really that great…in the areas that should key well…which is his arms and face.…So now I have a dilemma.…If I want to do it the hard but correct way…I would divide it up…and actually do moving mattes for each area…that has the good stuff.…Now I'd have to avoid…as much of the blue costume as possible…so it's somewhat painstaking.…
Let's suppose for a moment…that I don't care quite that much…about this particular key.…for whatever reason.…
