Sizing a logo for video with Adobe Illustrator
- If you're given an existing logo as an Illustrator file, it's very easy to size for video. You could choose to do this in Illustrator or in Photoshop. Let me show you how. We'll start with Photoshop. That's a bit easier. Once you've chosen an element, just switch into Photoshop, and make a new document that's sized to your delivery format. File > New > Film and Video, and I'm going to choose a 4K template. Because I want maximum bit depth, I'll set this to 16 bit for video, and click Create. Now I have an empty canvas. From the File menu, choose File > Place Embedded. Navigate to the file that you want, and select it, and click Place. Once you do, and you click OK, it'll open up. Now, if you hold down the shift key, it constrains the scale. Adding the option or the alt key will scale from the center. And this makes it easy to adjust the size.
