- [Instructor] In this chapter, I'll be covering creating and editing text with the type tool. If you have the exercise files, go ahead and open 01-Basic Text*starter. This is a blank composition. If you don't have our exercise files, just create a new comp with a black background. The two panels we'll be working with are the Character and Paragraph panels, but you don't need to open these from the window menu. When you select the type tool because the auto open panels option is selected, the Character and the Paragraph panels will open automatically on the right side of your workspace. And by the way, if you press and hold the type tool, you'll notice that there's a horizontal and a vertical type tool. I'll be working only with the horizontal type tool in this lesson. While I don't particularly care for this arrangement, the paragraph panel is taking up space for my timeline. So instead I'm going to go to the workspace…
