- Now that we've got consistent outputs and render settings out of the way, let's talk a bit about the system performance. What I mean here is how your system actually runs. Now this next section of the course is a little bit tricky, so I'm going to try to straddle the line between being very technical without getting to the level of engineering detail that's possible. There are a lot of tutorials and information as well as documentation that is included in the Adobe website about configuring some of these settings. Now some of this information is a little bit conflicting and it could be confusing, so I'm going to try to break it down and make sure that it's clear on how to get the best performance. Let's dig in to memory, as we take a look here in After Effects, what I'm going to do is call up the preferences for memory, this is either under the After Effects menu, or under the Edit menu and you choose Preferences and then Memory. Now the settings here could be a little bit confusing…
