- [Instructor] This lesson provides the main key to designing an illustrator file for motion. It has to do with the difference between how we work with individual layers in after effects, versus illustrator. In after effects, I will create a composition called, the Psw. For this animation actually I'll call it PSW animation and all the defaults look fine to me. Now I will bring in my illustrator graphic. And it has been prepped, but only somewhat. Now, when I choose open, I can import as a composition or footage. If I choose footage, you can guarantee it's going to be a single layer file. Whereas choosing composition means any layers that are in the file, will be provided individually within a separate composition. So let's try that. When I open what I just imported, I see the graphic and I see there's just one layer. And unlike illustrator, I can't sort of twirl down and see more contents. That's all I have access…
