Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Selecting and deleting unwanted track points, part of After Effects Guru: Tracking Cameras and Stabilizing Footage.
…As you work with the 3D camera tracker,…you might end up with extra points that you don't want.…It's quite possible to have too many points within the track.…And if that happens, it can create extra work.…Now the good news is, is that you could freely remove these points and…then force it to update.…Let's take a look at one of the scenes we tracked earlier…And I'll take a look at this dolly move and here it is in the starting position.…We've got the 3D camera tracker.…And as I drag through you'll notice that it's tracking the tree and…part of the house and really all I'm interested in is the sign.…
The tree branches could be blowing around in the wind and…that can create unwanted movement that could throw off the 3D camera track.…So, with the effect selected, I'll zoom out a little bit here so…it's easier to see around the edges.…And grab my selection tool.…Make sure that the Auto delete Points Across time is selected.…What this is going to do is remove the points throughout the frame.…This allows you to essentially lasso and select the points you don't want.…
