- When working with documentary images, chances are they'll come in a variety of colors, from full color to faded color to sepia tone to grayscale, and I want to share with you a few things about optimizing this for video. So even if the original image is in color or grayscale, I would recommend that you stick with the RGB color space. Let's open these two images up. You'll see that both of them are tagged as RGB. This means that if we look at Channels, you'll see that there are three Channels being used. Let's make these thumbnails a little larger here. So what's happening is that there's the different components of color, the Blue Channel plus the Green Channel plus the Red Channel. Areas that appear white have a high presence of a particular color. For example, the skin tones have a lot of red. If we look at the Green Channel and the Blue Channel, you'll see that those areas are a lot darker, as opposed to the blue sky, which appears very white inside of that particular Blue…
