- [Instructor] While we're talking about precomposing and precomps, let's talk about a feature that Adobe added to recent versions of After Effects. And that's the ability to replace a layered, Photoshop, or Illustrator file with a precomp that contains those layers. This particular exercise is only available in the Creative Cloud exercise files, and when opened, replace with precomp starter. And here I have an interesting composite that was created in Photoshop. It's a .psd file. Let's say I go about animating it, adding additional layers to the composition, and someone says, "You know, that file exists as layers. "You could edit its elements independently "if you wanted to." And you go, "That's great news, but I'm already using it. "How do I get back to those layers?" Well, actually, there's a few ways you can do that. You can either right-click on the layer, inside the timeline, and choose Convert to Layered Comp, or, with the layer selected, go to the Layer menu, and choose…
