Rendering the After Effects composition for use in an NLE
- Now that the animation is set, we just need to render the file. I'll capture my work by choosing File, Save As, and let's just call this Stage2, in case we need to go back. I now can add the composition to the render queue. This is where files are generated. In here, you can control the settings. What we'll do is click on the Render Settings, and analyze the choices. Let's go with Best quality and Full resolution. So that works, I'll click okay. From the output format, I'll click on the word Lossless, and choose a file format and a specific size. We're gonna go with QuickTime. And I'll click the Format Options and choose a codec that's cross-platform and works well. I recommend the GoPro CineForm codec, which will work with Mac and PC. You can download the decoder for free from the GoPro website, and its a surprisingly agile codec. CineForm is not the same codec that's used inside of the GoPro cameras.
