- There's a pretty cool option inside of After Effects that gives it the ability to actually render something out and then send you an email letting you know that it's done. Now, this is quite useful because it means that you can actually leave, and maybe go to lunch or go home for the night, and have After Effects notify you to the status of what happens. Now, this is a little bit tricky to set up at first. But once you got it, it really can be quite useful. Let's go ahead and bring up our preferences first. I'll need to go under the edit menu. And choose preferences, general. And what you want to do is check the option here that allows scripts to write files and access the network. This means that once the script is done, it can ping the network. And I'll click okay. Now what we can do is select something that we want to render. For example, comps 6.2 here.
