Removing chromatic aberration
- One of the most subtle problems that you'll experience with footage is chromatic aberration. It's typically going to be in high contrast areas and it can be a bit tricky. Let me show you what this looks like. Let's open up our last shot and if I zoom in, you'll see in some areas a little bit of fringe. For example, around some of these edges here, there is a greenish glow. Well, the backlit sun, was hitting those leaves and the sensor misread it. It was a high contrast area of a very dark area intersecting with a very bright area. You can see an unnatural glow, let's fix that. Filter, convert for smart filters. And now, we can invoke camera raw. Under the lens corrections tab, there's the ability here to defringe. So let's zoom in on that same section we were looking at, I'll hold down the space bar. And what I want to do is remove some of the green fringe. So I'll drag the green amount over and reposition so it knows what color to go after. In this case, that yellowish glow but…
