…One of the coolest things about AfterEffects…is its ability to do 3D lighting.…Now you might be thinking how is this scene 3D?…Well, it's not yet but we can make our foreground…actor 3D and use 3D lights to virtually light him.…I'll click the queue bike on here to switch this over to…3D and now add my first light, Layer > New > Light.…The first light you're going to add is an ambient light and…you're going to want to knock down the base lighting level to about 50%.…This is kind of like coming into a studio…and dimming the lights before you light your subject.…
Next, add your next light. And I'll use a spotlight in this case.…You can adjust the intensity, as well as all the…controls, but I generally find that adding it first is useful.…Make sure you use the Regular Selection tool, and at this point, it's a…pretty good idea to lock your two…background layers so you don't accidentally move them.…I can now drag that light and move it, and use…these arrows to move things in X, Y and Z space.…Let's put that light a little higher, and tilt it down.…
