Refine mask feather
- Raising the feather is going to actually have an unwanted side effect which is allowing some orange to bleed into the middle. So even though it's getting the softness, it's also kind of leaking, and the reason for that is that feathering works both inward and outward to the same degree. So, to make this really work, I would probably need to also expand the mask and you can see things start to get ugly. So instead of doing that, I'm going to try an alternative known as Variable Mask Feather that allows me to feather just this one edge. It also lets me determine whether the feathering occurs to the outside or the inside of the mask. Here's how it works. The G key brings up the Variable Mask Feather tool. Now, G is also the Pen tool, so it's a toggle between the two as I explained in another lesson. We just didn't look at this tool in that lesson. So here is the Feather tool.
