Referring to value and time
There are certain expressions that you'll find yourself using over and over again. And two of the elements I use in expressions a lot are value and time. Value because it's non-property specific. Is great for pre-sets because it will work on any value that you apply it to. So that's why I tend to use value quite often instead of the word position to return a value of the property that we're working on. And then time is great because there's no key frames involved when you use time and you can do so much with it. If we have a look at this, I'm just going to run Preview this composition, you'll see by putting value zero, so returning the existing position value, on the x-axis, and time, times 100. That's how I can get something to move on the y-axis, okay? And I can adjust the speed by adjusting this number. Now, of course, I could use a slider to insert that value, if I wanted to that would be a really useful thing to do. So let's have a look at that. So I could go Effect > Expression…
