- The next category of presets is…designed to quickly solve problems…with the original footage.…It's essentially a set of utilities.…Now, I'm going to pull out some really old footage,…some standard definition digital video…that's highly compressed and pretty noisy,…and let me show you how After Effects…can make it a bit easier.…Here we have a piece of standard…definition video footage.…I know it might have been awhile for some of you.…And under the Image Utilities section here,…we can fix it.…There are some presets to make it…a little bit easier.…
For example, one called Reduce DV blockiness.…Let's zoom in here to 100%…and if we take a look at some of the footage here,…particularly viewing the individual channels,…you see that there's a lot of blockiness…in the Red and the Blue channel.…As we explore that, you see a lot of noise.…Well, by using the Reduce DV blockiness, it cleans that up.…You notice it applied a couple of different Channel Blurs.…There's the before and after,…and that definitely did a nice job of cleaning up…
