Overview

- Hi, I'm Trish Meyer, Kris Design. In this lesson, I'm going to cover the After Effects Text engine. It's powerful but not always intuitive. So I'll start with the basics of how selectors work and then build up your skills over a series of exercises. You learn all about text animators, including using shapes, animating text along a curve, and using per character 3D to fly type around in 3D space. I'll also show you how to apply text animation presets but I hope that by the end of this lesson you'll be empowered to create your own custom text animations and then you can save those as presets. Of course, title design involves more than just animation. You also have to create professional looking titles so if you need some help with those curly quotes don't miss the movies at the very end. Now, although this lesson is primarily involved with text animation, I'll also cover a couple of other topics including separating fields and rendering with an alpha channel. And during the intermission, Chris will show you how to add audio to your project and then time your animation to the music. So let's get started. In the first chapter, I do have to cover the basics but I promise after that we'll have fun with text animators.
