- Let's start with one of the simplest 3D applications you likely have on your computer, and that's Photoshop. A lot of folks don't realize that Adobe Photoshop supports opening and manipulating 3D models. Particularly when it comes to modifying a color or changing textures. Now, Photoshop is not really an animation program but it's very useful so you can bring in 3D models and use them like stock imagery as you build that graphics. Let me show you some of the steps involved with working with a 3D object. First up, you'll need to create a new file. So, choose File, New, and from the preset menu, I recommend you change the type to Film & Video for the Document Type. Then use a preset. Now hopefully, you've moved past working in standard definition and instead, jumped down to the high definition presets. The top one is for 720p with square pixels and the bottom one is for 1080.
