- Alignment is an extraordinarily important part of animation and design. It basically helps create order and relations between items, and there is a very robust tool for adding more functionality to alignment in After Effects, and that is the Align 3D script, available for pay-what-you-wish on aescripts.com. Go ahead and download this. Copy it to your scripts UI folder, and restart After Effects to install this awesome script. I'm going to jump over to my project over here, and I'm in chapter 2, 05 Align 3D. Back here, I have a few different shape layers that I want to line up and make more well-designed and distributed. So, I'm going to select shape layer one, hold down shift, and select shape layer eight. So I have all my shapes selected. Now, I could go ahead and do this layer by layer, shape by shape, lining them up and doing it by eye.
