Moderating the distortion
- The caustics watery look is much better, at least in my opinion. However, since the bottle itself is part of the distortion, we are getting strange results in the places where the bottle and our text message are meeting. To overcome this, we need to remove the bottle from the displacement source. And in this movie, I'll show you one way to do just that. Okay, just so you can see what I'm talking about I'm going to preview the composition with the effects that we've applied so far. You can see that we have a very convincing distortion, watery displacement thanks to the caustics effect that we've used in the previous movie. But, anytime that the bottle is colliding or above this text it creates kind of a strange behavior and I think that in order to create a more convincing distortion, we need to take the bottle out of the equation. And by that I mean, we don't want to see any bottle pixels inside the displacement source that we are using for the watery distortion. And just so it will…
