- In many cases, when working on a composite, we are concentrating on the technical parts, like tracking and color matching, and sometimes we forget to check the realism of the overall shot. When you are shooting something in motion, the camera lens will create natural motion blur effect, unless, of course, you are shooting in a very high frame rate. You are probably already aware that After Effects can add motion blur automatically to a key frame animated layer, but not all people understand how the motion blur settings actually work, or how to fix error that caused them to mis-match. In this example of a cave brick wall, which was shot by my friend, Sahi Ashar, we can see an obvious motion blur effect happening before the camera settles down. So if you want to attach some graphic to those stones, we must pay attention to the motion blur settings and try to match them as closely as possible to the underlying clip.
