- In this section of the course, we'll eliminate variables from the shot to narrow down the amount of articulated roto and paint to only what's required. I'm gonna show you how to do roto and paint, but I'm also going to show you how to get rid of stuff that's either going to mess up your shot, or distract you from what actually needs to be done. Now in this shot, we seem to have a lock off, and in fact I have a not quite matching background. Now this is troubling, that this background doesn't quite match. It was taken at a different time. The lighting conditions changed, and the position of the camera changed. In fact, as much as possible I'm going to be using blank sections of this foreground shot instead of the background. There's one more complication, and that is that this foreground shot is not quite locked off. It's close, but when we used to work with film, we used to say, "There's no such thing as a lock off."
