If you've been following along, you can continue to use the Text Presets starter …composition you were using. Or if you're picking up from this movie, …go ahead and open up 3.2 Additional Keyframing Starter. …I'm going to close that and go back to the comp I was working with initially …because I've done some nice tricks with my initial range selector values. …Alright, let's experiment with just a simple fade out, just to see how that …works for getting rid of this text. I promise to add some more pizzazz to it …later, but let's start with the basics. I'm going to select the text layer, hold …Shift, press T to also see opacity, and keyframe it fading out over, let's say, …the same two beats I was playing with initially.…
And we can play with that timing to see how we like it. …Let's preview that. (MUSIC) Again, that's feeling a little …bit languid to me to stretch out over these two long beats or four smaller beats. …And it also starts fading away before I've had a chance to read that text twice. …
In this course, Chris Meyer teaches you how to "read" an audio waveform to spot the most interesting points to animate to, and then presents a variety of ideas for cutting video and animating movements to match your soundtrack. This includes timing transitions, making staccato cuts, matching the frame rate to the tempo, wiggling in time, expressing animations to sound, motion sketching to music, and more. Although these tricks will be demonstrated inside Adobe After Effects, the techniques themselves are applicable to virtually any editing or animation package.
This course was created and produced by Chris and Trish Meyer. We are honored to host this content in our library.
