- Point tracking is the oldest and really the most basic type of tracking available in After Effects. You would think that it's been completely superseded by the other options, but in fact, it remains the most flexible and widely adaptable of the trackers. In this section, I'm just going to focus on the basics with the point tracker, how to successfully track a point, how best to apply it, and how to continue a track that goes off screen.
