Learn to create a realistic steam animation with After Effects, using a particle system animation and a sprite sheet.
- [Voiceover] Hi, this is Chris Converse, and this is a course that I've put together in response to inquiries that I've received about an animation effect that I created for another course here on the lynda.com online training library. In the Edge Animate Essential Training Course, I provided a sprite sheet in the exercise files that I created with After Effects and Photoshop, and when it's animated, it creates an amorphous, animated shape that looks like steam. This effect uses a particle system inside of After Effects along with techniques to both style and seamlessly loop the animation. Now, don't worry if you've never used After Effects before.
I'm gonna be showing you how I created this effect step by step, and I'm also supplying a sprite sheet player with the course that's available to all members of the lynda.com online training library so you can test out your new sprite sheet in a browser. So download the exercise files, and let me show you how to use After Effects to create content for HTML5 animations.
